Taking pictures in public
I'd like to start off by giving props to all the models that have to strike poses of sorts in the eyes of the public. I'm not a model but I had my fare share of shooting in a really public space.
Aniqa (@visual_lens on Instagram), a photographer who I met last fall through a good friend, and I made several plans to work together but our schedules never quite allowed for it. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I sent her a DM and she was free. It was time to take the opportunity! I let her choose a setting because it was nice not to plan everything for once and focus on my looks, rather than photography or venues
This created a little problem for me...shyness. I'm still unsure if it was because I was shooting with her for the first time or if it was the tens, maybe hundreds of people walking by every minute. At first, I was a little nervous but she was so easy going and quite funny so I went with it.
Every tensed muscle leads to another and eventually, you end up looking slightly awkward one way or another. If you're lucky, you might get one good shot, which made me realize the importance of practicing and nailing my "good" poses. Your outfit could look really dope but that bad pose will flush all your work down the drain quickly.
Sadly, I parted ways with my long mirror a couple of months ago, now I'm stuck with the wall mirror in my bathroom. Typing this, I don't know why I haven't picked up a new one...
Lol anyway, here are some of my favourite shots form this look.
Send me an email and tell me what you think ;)
